This is a massage to help muscle recovery after a sporting event, competition or workout and its aim is to help regain normal muscle tone and resting lengths. Much lighter and more superficial pressure is used in post-event massage.
This is a modern version of the traditional “wet” or “fire” cupping and uses plastic cups and a vacuum pump to create suction. The skin, fascia, and superficial muscle tissue is thereby lifted, stretched and stretched. This will increase blood flow and the supply of oxygen and nutrients.
